Audience Feedback
To collect my audience feedback i had written feedback, used survey monkey and even video responses but now i needed to analyse the research. In order to collect all my responses into one coherent picture i used Wordle. Which is a website that collects all the words used in analysing my work and present it in a way that shows the most common responses being displayed larger than others.Using wordle is very helpful as not only can i quicky analyse the most repeatitve responses but it also displays it in a visual pleasing way that makes it more nice to look at.
Looking at my Wordle and Surevy monkey statistics plus my video response it became apparent that the Colour used was very productive in added to the feel of the music video. This was because it was shot in night vision and some was changed in editing to make it appear like night time. This was very useful feedback as up to that point in time i was still unsure as to whether it looked presentable enough to call it nighttime. We were also Told about the Lip Synch. Overall most people agreed that it was good however a number of people did pick up on the Moments when Jimmy forgot the words to the song. although not many people did pick up on it it still was not completely hidden. Overall it does not effect the flow of the film too much but however if i did do this again i would work personally with my performer to make sure he knew the lines. People also noted on how Each shot from the gangs contrasted both in camera and mis en scene. They noted that although it Wasnt intentional the fact that the 2 colours differ is good as it connotes how the 2 gangs society. They also commented on it contrasting with the animals and age as it was said to add an element of humor within the serious message. Most people also picked up on the representation of our youths in the video. It was said to be really clear and precise on our views on them. Overall my finally question to people was whether it was MTV presentable or not everyone we interviewed agreed it was because they believed it had a professional out take to the video

Audience feedback
in order to get some audience feedback for each of my created medias i have decided on the following;
1. organize focus groups for a goup of 11 yr olds and another for sixth formers
2. Use survey monkey and word to produce questionnaires
3. collect video recorded interview response.

My Questionnaire
Today we have begun answering the four questions for our coursework and today we answered the question ''What have you learnt from your audience Feedback". To do this we needed to create an questionnaire which in todays lesson i created and is below. Now all that is left to do is give out questionnaires.
Create your free online surveys with SurveyMonkey, the world's leading questionnaire tool.

Day 2 Filming
I am pleased to say that we have finally finished shooting (Finally!!!!!!!!!!!). We did come a few difficulties whilst filming which as one unit we were able to overcome. WE had an issue with one of our performers being unable to attend as her parents wouldn't let her. Fortunately for us, I had spoken to my cousin some time ago about performing and he happened to be free today so we managed to get him to replace her. Alongside that we had problems with playing the song as the volume of my phone was not loud enough. We managed to resolve this by Having Joe performing with earphones and the Gorillas relying on his performance to interpret what stage of the song they were at which worked really well. We came across a minor problem Where Jimmy did not know his lines. At first this did prove to be difficult but after going through the lines with Jimmy myself and making him feel more confident performing them he managed to get it. Overall Filming was enjoyable and its really relieving to know that we have completed shooting and all seems to be looking good for my team and I.

Blog Update
Today we expected to finish our filming once and for all and at the same time get images which we would use for our Digi-paks. Unfortunately we ran into numerous problems; Jimmy our performer for professor Green was unable to attend as his mum said he needed to clean up his room. Alongside that there was heavy rain therefore we had to make a careful judgment/risk assessment regarding the safety of the camera. After much discussion we decided that it was wise to re-shoot tomorrow however we did manage to get a few photos for our Digi-pak which i now have enough to begin fully now.

We also completed most of the editing and filled gaps left to film with temporary footage we shot but overall everything seems to be going good and now im off to talk to our perfomers about arranging a shooting date and hopefully by the end of next week we would have gotten our directors cut done.

Post Production Feedback
Today is our first lesson back we began editing once again. We Spent the lesson trying to get our shots in time with the song but this proved difficult due to the fact that we recorded no sound. We also had a some of the students in our class take a look at our work and give us feedback.
One person said that our shots were too long, which we were aware of however we needed to get all of the shots in sync with the songs before we could cut them down. We were also told to include more shots of Joe but we cannot at this stage as we have not recorded them yet. They also said that there was a long blackout which was left for a shot we still have not recorded it yet. And we were also told that There were random shots in between the video which were just moved temporarily as we were trying to tidy the sequence up.

Blog Update (11.12.10)
On my lesson on Thursday we uploaded the footage my group shot when I was unavailable. After reviewing the footage, we agreed that we would need to re-shoot the footage. We also misjudged how bright it was at the location so we discussed how we would overcome this problem. We decided we would shoot at the school astro turf which we believed would be good as it is bright and the kids would be more available if it were shot on school grounds. Nonetheless we still did edit the footage into our music video just so we could get a visual of how our video should look.

Digipak Initial Ideas
Today i began devising my initial ideas for how intended my digipak to look. As the main protagonist in our video was professor green i chose to have and image with him and the lions as the cover (following on from the iconography of the animals). At the top was the artist name in calligraphy font the same to the one i used in my banner. at the bottom was a big bold font saying jungle which will be the same font to the writing in my website. On the back was an image of the Gorillas with Mavrick at their 'habitat' (the skate park where they fight). Below it would be the The track list and at the top left would be My label logo i created. Inside will be the face off images we have at the end of the music video. The gorillas on one side and the lions on the other.
Digipak Research
Above are images of tinie tempah's; website, album, video. When making my digipak its important that all of the media represent the iconography of my artist. I believe the iconography of Tinie tempah is represented well through all the media, not just as an artist but as the genre. Every media used has an image of Tinie wearing black shades, which is not only an iconography to him but to his genre. they also all have bright neon colours like purple shining over him, so the colour scheme is the same throughout all his media.

Blog Update
Last week my group began the second half of filming. unfortunately I was unable to attend it as I had to attend a still life drawing class for my art work. however I spoke to my group and they told me they did manage to shoot something however the main character(pro. green) was not there and the performances was not to the best of their ability so they were unable to complete the filming and we will need to reschedule to shoot. We would have rescheduled earlier but due to weather conditions it has been difficult for us to meet up.
CD Cover Analysis
Professor Green
1. The genre for this album is hip hop/pop. This is shown in the cove as like most pop covers the attention is mostly drawn to the image of the artist. The artists face is neutral with no expression suggesting that he is completely serious about his music.
2. The Target audience are young people between the ages of 16-25. This is shown in the cover and in his music subject and genre which appeals to this age group. His music tends to be music that people dance to and most teens appeal to this type of this music because they are young and carefree.
3. I believe his iconography is successful. This is shown as the cover is simple with just an image and a title which I believe reflects his music because his music is essentially simple.
50 Cent
1. The genre for this cover is gangster rap. The cover centres around an image of 50 cent topless with loads of tattoos and 'pen' marks around his body. this makes him look like a tough guy and the serious expression on his face makes him look like someone not to be messed with. Also the title is in graffiti showing that he is a gangster because graffiti is a crime and is therefore associated with criminals and gangs.
2. The Target audience for this cover would be for males around the ages of 18-25. the cover sees 50 cent topless with gloves, a hat and a chain(iconography in Hip Hop/Rap). by him being the central image it makes the audience want to be more like him because of how muscular him and the tough guy look he has. He us also looking down which makes him look more powerful and males are notorious for constantly searching for power due to 'male pride'.
3. The cover represents the iconography well. This is shown because the font used is graffiti and is commonly associated with rap. The colour seems to be more white and black which is used more for seriousness as opposed to bright colours like pink and purple and gangster rap is supposed to be serious.
Scouting for Girls
1. The genre of this album is indie/rock. This is shown in the cover because of its simplicity (used a lot in indie covers). Not only that, but their image abstract (a boat) and no relation to them. This is done a lot in this genre and shows that they are not trying to sell themselves but their music.
2. The target audience for this cover would be an existing fan base of 18-30 year olds (mature audiences). This is shown as they do not have their album title there so to know what album it was you’d need to know the band. Not only that but the album is plain with just a small image and the band logo which connotes that they are more about the music than the image which is appealing to a mature audience.
3. The cover is very effective in establishing the iconography. The image is abstract and other than the title, the image is mostly blank. Alongside that the colour scheme is plain and subtle which indie artist use often.

Shooting :day one (24th November)
Today we began filming. We were ran into many difficulties today but overall today was a success. We first all met up at 3:30 at the media department in order to book out the camera and sort out specifically what we were going to shoot today. we agreed that we would do all of the walk and talk shots of professor green and his fellow lions walking and if we had a chance do some of the shots at parsloes park with the gorillas(although we doubted we'd have time to do this). Then at 4:30 we met up with our actors at the front of the school. however we had our first problem. Two of our actors had not turned up but fortunately one of actors came along with two of girls and luckily they both had permission slips. With all the actors around all that was left to do was get to the location. Once we arrived at the location we set up ourselves and walked our actors through the scene. We experienced a minor arguments whilst doing so amongst the group but we overcame them and as a result was able to get some good shots. When we rehearsed the performance the kids were all shy and timid so in order to tackle this situation we decided to show them and get them to free up. It took some time in order to get a good performance from them but when it came down to it they did very well. Jimmy the 11yr old playing the character of Professor Green did well especially. He took my advice and listened to what I said and I'd liked to believe that from our advice and direction we got a good performance from him. Following from Jake Wynne's advice we shot all are shots through the whole song and it gives me great pleasure to say we got most of our footage of the lions(kids).Today we got a shot of him performing the whole song at a Close up, Mid shot, Long shot. These were all walk and talk shot which I feel will allow for a good flow to the film due to the diverse range of shots we have to choose from. Unfortunately, we were unable to do the scenes with the gorillas (adults) so we rearranged to do the filming on Monday and hopefully we will have all our footage that we will need.
24th November blog update
Last Friday we were unable to shoot due to our actors being unavaliable. So instead we decided to begin our establishing shots and the following week (this week) we reschedule. Today we uploaded the footage and began reviewing them. Although at the beginning we began experiencing some difficulties we rendering, when we finally overcame them w were able to review them.

Banner Designs
Below is my banner design ideas. My first idea was to have a flash of various images whilst at the top a calligraphy typed font saying professor green as reference to his tattoo font and my created logo the bottom left
My second one was a simple Calligraphy typed font saying professor green and a menu bar across it. the colour would be a neon greens because the genre usually consist of bright neon lights and having it green doesn't specifically represent the genre however it is good iconography for his name.
My final idea was a digitally manipulated image of professor green standing whilst on both sides of him was the words professor and green. I wanted to manipulate the image as in hip hop a lot of artist usually manipulate pictures (artist such as Tinie Tempah). Once again the font would also be calligraphy because of the iconography arpund professor green's tattoo.

Paper design (website layout)
Here are two webpage designs i created. the first one was supposed to be a notice board and all of the post it notes were to be link to other pages. The font was all mean't to be in Calligraphy and the colours being; green, blue, purple. This is because the font is once again reference to his tattoo and the colours are reference to the title he gives himself and because it is an iconography for his genre.
The second design is an image of a recording studio. all fonts are in calligraphy as it is my iconography for him. Each object in the studio is a link to another page such as the speakers linking to the videos page. I chose this image as it is obviously an iconography for music in general.

Company Logo Ideas
Next up I began making a company logo. As I was in Wales doing my Duke of Edinburgh award when my group was making their logo I wasn't there so I made my own individual one.
My first design was a simple futuristic font saying my company name (H-town records-hackney town records). this font was to be similar to styles like Tinie Tempah and boy better know. the colour would be purple as it is a well known iconography amongst hip hop/ dance. The writing would also be sitting on top of a boom box as it is a very distinct iconography for Hip-hop.
My second was just a bold writing say H-town in a font similar to boy better know. Inside is white but the outside would be a bright neon red as it is an iconography used in hip hop/dance.
My final design was black shades with 'H' and 'Town' in the lenses. I chose the black shades as it is an important iconography that is used by artist like Jay-Z and Tinchy Stryder. The font would be a graffiti style similar to the N Dubz logo and the colour would be purple as it is used as iconography for hip hop/ dance.

Paper Moodboard
here is my paper mood board for how i would want my website to 'feel'. the gorilla was there because the title of our video is jungle so is a reference to the animals plus the gorilla is holding a phone which compares the 'hoodies' to animals with technology. the picture of the man behind gates was supposed to be reference to how rappers talk a lot abut being trapped. The centre picture (N-Dubz) was there because they are well known hip hop artist and there clothes are huge iconographies for hip hop. The DJ Hero logo was there because it looks like a futuristic/ graffiti style which is the sort of font used in hip hop. The picture of professor green with a super Mario hat is there as the Mario hat is an important iconography in the franchise. and like Mario hat to Mario is how professor greens tattoo is to him. the app store and Facebook logo is there because it is a website iconography for artist pages to allow fans to network with them
Jake Wynne
A few weeks ago my classmates and I were very fortunate enough to meet an industry professional who had made music videos for the likes of Robbie Williams and many more. This man was Jake Wynne. I found this experience most valuable and I learnt a lot from his visit. Jake went to staffordshire university where he studied tv, radio and film studies. He explained to us many basics of recording such as shooting the whole song in every shot even if you have an intention of using the shot for one particular moment as it makes editing more easy. I also was told that he always has some sort of narrative even if it is ostly performance as he believes it gives the video more of a meaning. Overall the experience helped me a lot and gave me loads of knowledge not to mention (although i had to leave early for my D of E award)we got to shoot our own music video (Robbie Williams- Let me entertain you). This experience was very useful and we learnt how music videos are commissioned.
Commissioning a Music Video
1. Producers sends track out to prospective directors with a breif
2. directors then break tracks into elements and creates a treatment of which they will then pitch to the producers.
3. The label, Band and producers decides who will direct together

Electronic Moodboard
In our lesson we were required to produce somethingthat would describe the mood of our music video. This was a moodboard and below is mine, in it desrcibes our a collection of images which i feel best desrcibes how i want the film to feel like.

Professor Green Music video
Whilst we were in the shooting stage of our film it turns out that Jungle had a newly made music video. Although it does look professional the concept isint the same as ours and the video has more emphasise on street life.

Sir David Attenborough Research(Documentary Style)
David Attenborough is a Broadcaster and naturalist well known for his documentaries planet earth and former senior manager of BBC. Below is a short clip of one of his documentaries. the reason for me researching on him is he is a well known documentary broadcaster and me and my group agreed we'd want to have some documentary style shots so therefore i wanted to watch this clip looking to understand the 'feel' it gives. from this video the documentary appears to be more about the camera focused on the background as much as the actual animals. What i found was really was good was that obviously the animals were unaware they were being filmed and would like to experiment with trying to do this in my project as i feel it would be a good metaphor for the title of the song.
Props Research (Masks)
Tonight I've searched for actual mask which we could use for our music video and managed to find some on ebay the link is below.
